ABOUT US

Artioli Findlay presents the work of contemporary artists in one of America's most respected venues- the David Findlay Galleries. The common theme throughout the diverse body of work is the colorful palates and subject matter, whether it is the sea or an interior setting, it provokes a soothing and inviting experience. There is a degree of depth where one can feel the soul of the creation as they look at the art.

The contemporary art at Artioli Findlay offers an interesting contrast to the David Findlay Galleries where works by contemporary American and French painters have been influenced by the Impressionists, Expressionists and the Fauves. The first exhibit at Artioli Findlay will be the contemporary sculptures of American Michael Lucero against the backdrop of the David Findlay Galleries which follows its multi-generational tradition of representing contemporary American artists. Artioli Findlay is relocating from Carnegie Hill to Madison Avenue to offer more space for artists such as the sculptor Michael Lucero which the New York Times praised as one of the featured artists at Art and Design Museum, New York. Michael Lucero's composition of various forms reveals the most fantastic figures beyond one's imagination. The re-firing of these clay pieces produces amazing, beautiful colors. Nine artists showcase their work at Artioli Findlay. Other artists slated for exhibits are the Paris-based painter Christina Barolo and photographer Burton Machen from Los Angeles. These uniquely exciting artists create works that beckon the viewer in through intriguing, interesting stories.

While married to Michael Findlay, Pauline Findlay, founder of Artioli Findlay, followed the careers of several of the artists the David Findlay Galleries represented. In 2006 Pauline established Artioli Findlay to introduce new artists to the New York art scene. Given her warm relationships with several artists and deep involvement in the art market, especially in the capacity of collector, Pauline opened Artioli Findlay as a "salon" like space on East 94th Street. The new space will enable Pauline to design a dynamic exhibition program and participate in international art fairs. Artioli Findlay will be a place where people who feel connected to art can understand and enjoy the tranquility that art produces. In this vein, special events will be planned throughout the year to bring patrons of the arts together with artists where an artist talks about his/her work..
